Bizo case study – point of differentiation
Auckland based managed services provider, Business Online Limited (Bizo), looked no further than EMS-Cortex for its provisioning needs. as a service provider of a range of services exclusively to the business market, Bizo needed a provisioning platform that would allow them to initially gain access to the market and get a ‘leg up on the rest’. Customers today want a ‘one stop shop’. They want to subscribe to a group of services that are holistic and will result in one supplier, one bill, and one point of contact. At a basic level, the Cortex platform provides provisioning for Bizo’s Hosted Exchange, Hosted SharePoint Services, identity management, and user directory management.
“The key thing from a business point of view is that Cortex allows us to continue to maintain a point of differentiation” says Dartnall. We’re not about just providing software-as-a- service, we’re about providing IT-as-a-service”
Waynne Dartnall, CEO, Business Online Ltd

EPI Internet Direct case study – Cortex customization
EPI Internet Direct specializes in the hosting and delivery of Microsoft Exchange Server and related Microsoft collaborative solutions. Until 2006 they were provisioning each customer manually, which was time-consuming and complex.
EPI Internet Direct had spent years searching for an automated provisioning system to suit their business, but found most set up fees and per user fees were prohibitively expensive – until they discovered Cortex. Cortex’s competitive cost structure is directly scalable to each company’s use, and costs are easy to manage and account for. This was a major bonus to add to the efficiency gain in the provisioning processes.
“With Cortex, I can see that we could now double or triple the number of customers we provision – or more, with no real increase in support staff requirements.”
Ross Chappell, Partner, EPI Internet Direct, Canada
